A manufacturing company commissioned the installation of a single-tier mezzanine floor prior to relocating to their new facility. The mezzanine was designed to provide additional storage and office space and was shaped to integrate seamlessly with an existing mezzanine and office facilities.
The new mezzanine covered a total area of 1,000 square metres and required three escape routes, including a main access staircase with a mid-landing. As the mezzanine occupied more than 50% of the building's floor area, fire protection was required to comply with Building and Fire Regulations.
The installation was fully fire protected, incorporating fascia to all exposed edges, column casings, and a 600mm × 600mm suspended ceiling. All fire protection systems were independently certificated to provide 60 minutes of fire resistance, meeting the required regulations.
The customer was extremely satisfied with the completed installation and is now making full use of the additional storage and office space, maximising the available floor area within the facility.
